Committed to giving back in our backyard and across the Country by ensuring access to healthy food

Plano, Texas - April 03, 2020

Today, AdvoCare International (AdvoCare), a premier health and wellness company, announced a donation of more than 75,000 meals to the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) to support families with increased food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the help of the AdvoCare support, NTFB will be able to build up to 60,000 Food Boxes on a weekly basis for partner agencies to distribute across North Texas.

“The number of people in our neighborhoods who are food insecure will only increase during this time and we are proud to support the North Texas Food Bank in their mission to provide healthy food to those in need. We are all in this together, and AdvoCare will continue to give back in our communities to ensure all of us emerge from this crisis as strong as possible.”

“This pandemic has only increased the number of food insecure people in our community,” said Trisha Cunningham President and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank. “Thankfully there are generous supporters like the team at AdvoCare who have come together to help our fellow North Texas in their time of need. This support will help us further our vision of creating a hunger-free, healthy North Texas and we are extremely grateful.”

Giving back to organizations like NTFB fits in the overall community mission for AdvoCare solidifying the focus on building healthy lifestyles for families and creating food stability for future generations.

About North Texas Food Bank

The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is a top-ranked nonprofit hunger-relief organization operating a state-of-the-art volunteer and distribution center in Plano-the Perot Family Campus. Last year, the Food Bank worked hard in partnership with member agencies from our Feeding Network to provide to almost 77 million nutritious meals across a diverse 13-county service area -this means more than 200,000 meals per day for hungry children, seniors, and families. But the need for hunger relief in North Texas is complex and in order to meet the need, the NTFB is working to increase our food distribution efforts. Our goal is to provide access to 92 million nutritious meals annually by 2025.

NTFB is a member of Feeding America, a national hunger-relief organization.
